Shopper or Errand Runner

Go grocery store for an older adult, or run errands such as getting a package, a library book, picking up a prescription, bringing something to the post office and more.

Many of us take the convenience of technology for granted and can easily go online shopping or request a delivery. Often older adults do not have access to technology or an understanding of how it works and may be unable to request deliveries. That’s where you come in! Help bridge the technology gap by being a personal shopper or errand runner for an older adult who finds it difficult to leave their home. You can be set up with an ongoing client to help, or assist with “one and done” requests from different clients.

Some of our volunteers who assist with shopping and errands do not drive, and that is ok! On the Eastside of Milwaukee, much of the tasks can be done easily with walking or a short bus commute.

This is also a great opportunity for a business who has a team that wants to give back! Arrange a team of four or so individuals and take turns giving a regularly scheduled shopping ride to an area senior.
